Know, how Dashashwamedh Ghat of Prayagraj got its name, Brahmaji also performed Yagya here.
The Ganga Ghats of Rayagraj also have their own history. Dashashwamedh Ghat of Daraganj has historical importance. Dharmaraja Yudhishthar had performed ten yagyas at this ghat. Before that, Brahmaji had also performed yagya here. That is why this ghat is called Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Prayagraj has always had special importance on the Indian map in religious, literary and political terms. Prayagraj is described in the Vedas as a place of pilgrimage. Lakhs of people from all over the country and abroad come to the Magh Mela held here every year on the banks of Ganga and the Kumbh Mela every twelve years. It is believed that after attaining the four Vedas, Brahmaji performed Yagya in Prayagraj itself. It was called Prayag because it was the first yagya place in the universe. Prayag means the first Yagya.

The Ganga Ghats of Prayagraj also have their own history. Dashashwamedh Ghat of Daraganj has historical importance. Dharmaraja Yudhishthar had performed ten yagyas at this ghat. Before that, Brahmaji had also performed yagya here. That is why this ghat is called Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Yudhishthira had performed ten yagyas for the peace of the souls of his ancestors.
Religious literature scholar Prof. Girja Shankar Shastri says that the place where a river meets Ganga is called Prayag.

Ganga and Yamuna meet here. That is why this place has been called Tirtharaj Prayag. In Uttarakhand, the places where Ganga meets other rivers are called Dev Prayag, Karna Prayag, Rudraprayag. However, Prayagraj is the confluence of three rivers, Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. Mughal emperor Akbar was greatly impressed by the religious and cultural heritage of Prayagraj. Akbar had called this city the abode of Allah. That is why he named this place Allahabas.

Prof. Shastri says that there is a historical tradition of ghats in Prayag. Under the inspiration of Markandeya Rishi, Dharmaraja Yudhishthir had performed ten yagyas in Daraganj. He performed Shanti Puja here for the peace of the souls of his ancestors. For this reason this ghat was called Dashashwamedh Ghat.

Brahmaji performed Yagya in the Shiva temple situated at Dashashvedham Ghat.
It is also believed that Lord Brahma performed Yagya in the Shiva temple situated at Dashashwedham Ghat. There is a huge crowd of Kanwariyas at this ghat to take Ganga water for the whole month of Sawan. Kanwariyas first offer Ganga water in the Shiva temple of Dashashwamedh. After this they take the water from here to Kashi. In the month of Sawan, Kanwariyas carry Ganga water from Dashashwamedh Ghat to the Shiva temple around Prayag. There is a festive atmosphere here this month.
