This temple of Lord Shiva is amazing, water flows out of the mouth of Nandi for 12 months.

Chhattisgarh is famous for its natural beauty and religious places. There are many religious and natural places in the state. There is a place near Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh which is not only famous for its natural beauty but also has a lot of religious importance. At this Dham, water flows out of Nandi Maharaj’s mouth automatically for twelve months. This water never stops. We are talking about a Dham of Lord Shiva situated amidst nature which is known as Dongeshwar Mahadev. This Dham of Lord Shiva is full of natural beauty.

On one hand, by coming here you will get a chance to be amidst nature, on the other hand, this place is also very important from the religious point of view. This temple of Lord Shiva is very ancient and special. Dongeshwar Mahadev is located at a distance of about 75 km from Rajnandgaon district headquarters. You will find this place after walking about 8 kilometers on the Gandai (Narmada)-Balaghat road. Nature is spread here in all its beauty.

The temple was built in 1974

Earlier this place was known as Chodrapat, which has now become Chodra Dham. Impressed by the natural beauty of this place, former landlord of Gandai Lal Dogendrashah Khusro inspired people to build a temple here and as a result a Shiv temple was built here in 1974. The natural beauty of this place is very unique. The natural uninterrupted source of water falling between the huge rocks, vibrates the strings of the heart and provides coolness.

There is a long queue of devotees during the month of Saavan. This uninterrupted source was taken out from a Gomukh made of marble in 1974 and made to flow on the Shivling. People call it Gupt Ganga. The source of this Gupt Ganga is still a secret. During the month of Saavan, the number of devotees visiting here increases considerably. A fair is also organized here during the month of Saavan. Which is very special. At this place, you will feel the devotion of Lord Shiva and being in the midst of natural beauty, which is very beautiful.
