Droneshwar Mahadev Tirth Dham Girgadhada, Taluk, Itvaya, Gujarat
Droneshwar Mahadev Tirth is an ancient site associated with Lord Shiva. It is said that the place was originally known as Ratneshwar, and there was a jewel-like lingam (a symbol of Lord Shiva) in the middle of a vast pond. During the Satya Yuga (the first epoch in Hindu cosmology), the sages Vashishtha and Markandeya visited this spot. They stabilized the jewel in the pond using a shaft of Lord Shiva’s arrow and performed intense spiritual practices here.Afterwards, they granted the site spiritual potency and departed. Over time, it became known as Droneshwar Mahadev Tirth, named after Guru Dronacharya from the Mahabharata, who is believed to have visited the place and established a lingam there. Today, it remains a revered pilgrimage site where devotees come to worship Lord Shiva and engage in spiritual practices.
