DurgaDevasthanam Temple, Sydney
Gracing the city of Sydney is the beautiful temple of Goddess Durga. The temple has been established in 2002 by a non-profit religious organization with an aim to worship Goddess Durga, promote Hinduism and help needy people. The main deities of the Sri DurgaDevasthanam’sDurga Amman Temple are Goddess Durga, Goddess Lakshmi and Goddess Saraswati. There is an annual festival that is celebrated between February and March in the temple every year. The festival is 10-days long and concludes on the day of TherUtsavam and MasiMahamTheertham, which is considered a highly auspicious day for Goddess Durga. The holy festival of Navaratri is also celebrated with a lot of zeal in the temple. Apart from this, the shrine impart religious, educational and cultural values of Hinduism to the devotees, special provisions are made to impart religious knowledge to younger generation.
