Galeshwor Temple Beni,Dhaulagiri,Nepal
This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is built on a single massive rock. It holds a great religious importance. Thousands of devotees and travelers visit here. This temple has great religious significance for Hindu people. It is a Shiva temple located beside the Kaligandaki river. The famous Galeshwor Temple (Shiva Mandir) situated in Myagdi district, stands on the large chakra sila an area of 9 Ropani (4578.48 square meters).
Holy place where lord shiva is worshipped also there are temples of lord krishna n radha, vishnu , Gau maata n saligrams. This temple with others stands on a single Rock. There is foot-print of Lord Shiva n also saligrams which were emerged later on.
It is believed that the temple was self erupted which was later on preserved. This temple is just 3 km from Beni Bazar and on the way to a famous pilgrimage site Muktinath. It is one of the beautiful places to visit while travelling to Myagdi or Mustang district of Nepal.
This is such a holy place where the son of Brahma, Pulai Rishi in Satya Yuga; Ravana and Rajarshi Bharat, the son of Hrishavdeva in Treta Yuga had a penance amidst green forests, gardens, fresh wind pure water and wild roots and fruits. There is huge Shaligram at this place.
