In the month of Sawan, there is greenery all around on the hills, rain water filled in small and big buns, pieces of clouds coming by and catching their feet, Lord Bholenath sitting in a cave amidst the peaks of the hills fulfills every wish of his devotees. There is special significance of darshan of Gupteshwar Mahadev here on other days besides Monday of Sawan.
Gupteshwar Dham Baroni Datia
Bhole Baba Gupteshwar Mahadev is sitting on a high mountain in Badoni, a small Nagar Panchayat 10 km away from Datia headquarters.
The place of Bhole Baba is both miraculous and completely natural. Baba’s Shivalinga is inside a hill which is continuously growing and the cave-like hill is rising up. Beautiful route, beautiful views, there is a small lake in the middle of the route and forest is visible all around and on one side Baroni fort and Sonagir temples are also visible. To reach the temple, there is a steep climb of about 2 km which includes about 400 steps. But due to the beauty of the route one does not realize when one has reached the top.
