ISKCON Temple Elgin,Kolkata,West Bengal
This place is beyond divine. The idols of lord Krishna and Radharani are beyond beautiful. Idols of Lord Jagannath and his siblings are so exquisite and decorated with beautiful ornaments that you would not be able to keep your eyes off of them. The temple premises are peaceful and equipped with all the required things. On entrance only, there is an idol of Swami Prabhupada who is boarding a ship to expand the aura of Lord Krishna worldwide.
Devotees residing in Kolkata flock to this place everyday. Very well maintained. The curtain is risen during sandhyarati and one can get a glimpse of the deities then. Before that the curtain remains down. There is a certain timing.
The ISKCON Kolkata Sri Sri Radha Govinda Temple, located near Victoria Memorial, is a prominent spiritual destination in Kolkata. Established in 1971 by Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and serves as a center for the teachings of Krishna consciousness. It features beautifully decorated idols of Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna, creating a serene and devotional atmosphere. The temple is well-regarded for its daily worship rituals, which include aratis, kirtans, and classes that invite participation from devotees. It also engages in various community outreach programs such as book distribution, youth services, and a food relief initiative called “Food for Life,” which provides meals to the needy.
