Adhyatmic Stories

medicine bottle

Share

There was a kind devotee of Lord Shri Krishna in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan,

Name was Ramesh Chandra. He had a medicine shop. He had kept a small picture of Lord Shri Krishna in a corner of the shop. Whenever he opened the shop, after cleaning, he would wash his hands daily and clean the picture of Lord Ji and show incense sticks etc. with great devotion. He also had a son, Rakesh, who used to sit with him at the shop after completing his studies. He also used to see his father doing all this and since he was an educated young man of the new era, he used to explain to his father that God etc. does not exist, it is all an illusion of the mind.
The scriptures say that the Sun revolves around the universe on its chariot whereas science has proved that the Earth revolves around the Sun, in this way every day science gives new examples to show that God does not exist!!
Father would look at him affectionately and keep smiling. They did not want to argue on this topic.
Time passed and father became old. Perhaps they knew that now their end time was near…
So one day he said to his son, “Son, whether you believe in God or not, it is enough for me that you are a hard-working, kind and honest person. But will you listen to one thing I say?”
The son said, “Whatever you say father, I will definitely agree.”
Father said, “Son, after I leave, first of all, you clean this picture of Lord Krishna in the shop every day and second, if you ever get into any trouble, then with folded hands, tell your problem to Shri Krishnaji. Just obey what I say. ” The son agreed.
After a few days, father died, time kept passing…
One day it was raining heavily. Rakesh remained sitting in the shop the whole day and the customer base also decreased. On top of that, the electricity was also causing a lot of trouble. If it had gone off, there would have been darkness for hours. Then suddenly a boy came into the shop drenched and said, “Brother, I need this medicine. My mother is very ill. The doctor said that this medicine should be given immediately.” Mother will be saved only if four spoons are given to drink, do you have this medicine?”
Seeing the form, Rakesh immediately said, “Yes it is.” The boy was very happy… and within a few seconds he gave the money and left with the medicine.
But what is this? Shortly after the boy left, when Rakesh looked at the counter, he was in a bad condition due to sweat because just a short while ago a customer had returned a bottle of rat poison. Due to lack of light, Rakesh left the bottle on the counter and promised to put it back in its right place when the light came on. But the boy who had come to get the medicine took rat poison instead of his own bottle and the boy did not even seem to be educated.
“Oh God!” Rakesh suddenly said, “This has been a disaster!!”
Then he remembered his father’s words and he immediately folded his hands and started praying with a sad heart in front of the picture of Lord Shri Krishna, “O Lord! Father always said that you are there. If you are really there, then today this untoward incident will not happen. Don’t let a mother drink poison from her son, Lord!
“Brother!” Then a voice came from behind… “Brother! I slipped because of the mud, the medicine bottle also broke! Please give me another bottle…”
Seeing the picture of Bhagwanji full of charming smile, tears flowed from Rakesh’s eyes.
Today a belief had awakened within him that there is someone who is running this entire universe….
A prayer made from a heart full of love and devotion never goes unheard.
