Neel Saraswoti Temple is located in Lazimpat, Kathmandu Nepal.This is a consecrated temple of Goddess Neel Saraswati, one of the forms of Tara Goddess.Tara is one of ten Dashamahavidya goddesses.
Goddess Neela Saraswati, is Vaak Siddhi Pradhayani which means the bestower of mystic powers of speech.
In Hinduism, the goddess Tara is the second of the Dasa (ten) Mahavidyas or “Great Wisdom goddesses“, and is a form of Adishakti, the tantric manifestation of Parvati.
Devi Neela Saraswati was the daughter of Daksha Prajapati, then became daughter of Giriraj Himalaya, She is wife of Lord Shiva, and mother of Ganapati & Skanda. Lord Shiva in his form known as Sadyojata Mahakala/Akshobhya Shiva is Maa Neelasaraswati’s consort.
The temple of Neelsaraswati, the presiding deity of the legislature, is very famous for the students. These idols of Saraswati are seen holding harps, books and garlands in their hands. According to the Devmala genealogy, Gunakamdev is said to have established this temple. Some people have said that this idol is from the end of Mallakal period. This idol has been worshiped by Buddhists as Manjushri and by Hindus as Saraswati.
On the day of Basant Panchami or Shri Panchami, worship is performed by Tantric method. In this temple, Saraswati Puja is also performed on the same day, so the students are very crowded in this temple.
Goddess Neela Saraswati protects her devotees from misfortunes and bestows successive successes in all undertakings. She’s a boon giver and when worshipped with great devotion helps her devotees achieve worldly pleasures.
