Lord Surya is called the king of Navagraha. He is called by many names like Aditya, Bhanu and Ravi etc. It is said that Suryadev is the only god who illuminates the entire world with his light. Besides, their visions are also visible. Also, Lord Surya resides on a golden chariot adorned with seven horses. The command of the seven horses in his chariot is in the hands of Arun Dev. But do you know why the chariot on which Lord Surya rides has only seven horses?
In fact, there are many mythological stories prevalent in religious texts regarding the seven-horse chariot on which Lord Surya rides. The names of these seven horses which handle the chariot of Sun God are Gayatri, Bharti, Ushnik, Jagati, Tristap, Anustap and Pankti. It is believed that these seven horses represent different days of the week. Apart from this, from the scientific point of view also the seven horses of the chariot represent seven lights. Which originates from the rays of the Sun God himself.Also, these seven horses of Sun God are seen to be associated with the seven colors of the rainbow. Where there is a statue of Suryadev sitting on the chariot along with a huge chariot along with seven horses driving it and charioteer Arundev.
