Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev temple is one of the oldest temple in Kawardha. Famous for its panchmukhi (five faced) idol of Lord Shiva. This temple is located on the Old Court Road ,Math Para,Samnapur, Kawardha Chhattisgarh. The aarti at this temple happens at 7:30 Am. and 7:30 Pm.

the palace of Mahabali Diwan, the first king of the princely state of Kawardha, was built in this area, where there is a five-faced Shivling. This place has been the abode of sages and saints. The divine Panchmukhi Shivling in Budha Mahadev Temple is the self-manifested Shivling of the pre-princely period. For this reason it is very famous and it also has special importance.

There are five Shivalingas with five faces in the temple. Each Shivling has five faces. In this way, there is a wonderful Shivling of total 25 lingas here. According to Sankhya Darshana, Lord Shankar is the Panchabhuta ie earth, water, fire, sky and air. The Shivling of Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev is also like this. It is believed that this is a rare and unique Shivling, due to which its fame is far and wide.
