The temple we are telling you about is in Nainital. The temple is known as Pashan Devi. Here the Goddess is seen in 9 forms. Here, the figure of Mother Bhagwati is carved on a rock on the banks of Naini Lake. Which is created by nature itself. It is believed that Matarani has been sitting here for thousands of years and protecting the hilly areas. There are nine Pindis in the temple premises itself, which are considered to be symbols of the nine forms of Mother Goddess. In this temple, Mata Rani is dressed in vermillion robe instead of lehenga chunari.
When even an Englishman could not leave without bowing his head
According to local residents, once an Englishman was passing through this route. Then he saw this temple and started making fun of the small temple. As soon as he did this, he along with the horse fell into the lake. After this he prayed to Goddess Bhagwati for forgiveness. Then he could come out of the lake. As soon as he came out, he bowed his head in the court of his mother and then he could move ahead.
All types of skin diseases get cured here
There is a belief about this temple that even people suffering from severe skin diseases can come here and have darshan of the Mother Goddess. After this, if he takes bath in the water bathed by his mother, all his skin diseases are cured. This is the reason why devotees from every corner of the country come here and take bath in the water used to bathe the Mother Goddess. Or they take this water to their acquaintances. Actually, there is a crowd of devotees here all the time. But during Navratri, there is a rush of devotees here.
