Mahant Ajay Rajouria told that Prithviraj Chauhan tried to uproot the Shivalinga, but even after much digging, its end could not be found. After this he started worshiping. A temple was built here. After this the recognition of this temple kept increasing. This temple was named Prithvinath Mahadev Temple after his name. It is said that whichever devotee asks for anything here with a true heart, his every wish is fulfilled.
Although worship and consecration is done at Prithvinath Mahadev Temple on all four Mondays of Shravan month, but a fair is organized here on the last Monday of Shravan month.
If you are in Agra then you must visit this temple. Shivalinga has been installed here for about 1000 years, even before the era of Delhi Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan.
