Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple Ratanpur

Ratneshwar Mahadev Temple is located in Ratanpur, the city of Mother Mahamaya, 25 kilometers away from the city. This temple is historical and every auspicious and religious event happening in this area starts with the blessings of Ratneshwar Mahadev.

History

The temple was built by Raja Ratnadev in 1050 AD. For this reason the temple was also named Ratneshwar after him. Being an ancient temple, the importance of the temple also increases. Besides, this temple is also a historical heritage. Its renovation is done from time to time.

There are many popular stories

There are many legends and folk tales prevalent about the temple. According to the legend, King Ratnadev’s queen Vedmati had gone to Kashmir and brought sand from there. She changed into the shape of Shivalinga on the way. He reached Ratanpur and got it duly installed. To worship this Shivalinga, the queen used to walk on lotus leaves. Once the king increased the tax. Because of this the lotus leaves were submerged in water. According to the folklore, the women who worked as Manihari used to grind glass from Shivalinga and after finishing the work, they used to leave it there. After that, when she returned after completing her day’s work, the Shivalinga would return to its original place.

Recognition

The temple in all its splendor remains a major center of faith among the devotees. Shiv Darbar is always held here. From time to time, Mahamrityunjaya chanting, Sunderkand recitation and bhajan evenings take place. On Sawan and Shivratri, the beauty of Ratneshwar Mahadev’s court is worth seeing.

Let’s start the work with blessings

Devotees living around the temple area start any auspicious and religious work only by taking blessings of Mahadev. The tradition that has been going on for years continues even today. First the blessings of Ratneshwar Mahadev, then the beginning of auspicious and religious work.

Importance of worshiping Parthiv Shivlinga

Acharya says that worshiping the dead Shivalinga in Saavan has special significance. Rudraksha also has importance. It is important in religious, scientific as well as medical terms. Wearing it brings blessings of Lord Shiva and also removes physical problems. Although Rudraksha can be worn in any color thread, wearing it in red silk thread is considered most auspicious. There is also a rule for wearing Rudraksha. It can be worn on the wrist, neck or heart. It is best to wear Rudraksh on the days of Sawan, Shivratri and Monday. Before this it should be dedicated to Lord Shiva. A person wearing Rudraksha should follow a virtuous life. If the conduct is not pure, the wearer does not get its full benefits.
