Ancient temple of Lord Satyanarayan on the hill of Nainital
An ancient temple of Lord Satyanarayan (Satyanarayan Temple Nainital) is situated in the Himalayan viewing area of Nainital. This temple, which is about 70 to 80 years old, has become a tourist destination today. A large number of tourists who come to see the Himalayas also visit this temple. Scenes of some Hindi films have also been shot in this temple situated on the hill and the surrounding hills, which include the films ‘Sirf Tum’ and ‘Koi Mil Gaya’.
Satyanarayan Temple is located at a distance of about 8 kilometers from Nainital. This temple lies on the way from Nainital to Pangut. Every year in winter, on the day of Kartik Purnima, a huge Bhandara is organized here, in which a large number of devotees arrive.
Local people say that there is a story behind the establishment of this temple. When the road was being built at this place, a rock had come in front and it became difficult to break it. Two contractors Moti Singh and Kunwar Singh together established a small temple at this place and after that their work became even easier. There are many beliefs in this temple. It is said that whoever comes to this temple with a true heart and brings his wishes, all his wishes are fulfilled.
