Mystery of incomplete Shiva temple due to curse Prachin shiv mandir bhainsdehi

There is an ancient Shiva temple situated on the banks of Purna river in Bhaisadehi of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh which has become a mystery in itself.

The name of this wind land of Shiva was Mahishmati in Varahapuran, which later became Bhaisadehi. There are thousands of temples related to the temple of Lord Shiva in the country, many legends and mythological beliefs are prevalent, but the 13th century Prachi Shiva temple located in Bhaisdehi of Betul district is a unique example of artwork in itself.

This special Shiv Dham is called Siddheshwar Kshetra, it is believed that whoever goes here and makes a wish, all his wishes are fulfilled. The ancient Shiva temple, known as Ap Jyotirlinga, was placed under the Archeology Department in 1985. Stones have been used in the construction of this temple, its rocks are found on the banks of river Purna, black stones are brought from there in the form of rocks and this temple has been constructed. The mystery of the incomplete Shiva temple due to curse.

It is said about this ancient Shiva temple that the temple was built in ancient times. This temple was built by King Gaya of the Chola dynasty in the 13th century. This temple made of unmatched artwork has been built by the hands of two great craftsman brothers named Nagar and Bogar who, with the help of an amazing power, built this temple in just one night. But even after this the construction of the temple remained incomplete. When it was constructed, this temple did not have a roof. Near this temple, there is a confluence of river Purna where penance of snakes is performed and hence it was named Nag Tirtha.

There is a path to the underworld near this Shiva Linga, which contains many mysteries in itself. There is a very deep staircase here, the end of which has not been found till date. This ancient Shivlinga is a temple built in the 13th century by King Gaya Gond, mention of Nagar script is found in this temple.

The Pyosani text also describes the theory that at that time Shiva Dham was known as Siddheshwar Shivalinga, this temple was founded by King Gaya of Chola Dynasty. A very interesting story is famous about it –

It is said that for the establishment of the temple, King Gaya invited 84 thousand sages to drink water here. When the sages felt thirsty, King Gaya invited the sages to provide water to Krishna. Chandradev prayed. After this, Chandra Dev accepted the king’s prayer and created his fifth art, Pyosani, which quenched the thirst of the sages and sages.

For the construction of this temple, King Gaya, who was a great devotee of Lord Shiva, invited two craftsman brothers named Nagar and Bogar. Both of those brothers had an amazing achievement that they could do any big work in a single night, no matter how big the work was. He had the Siddhi (boon) that he could do any big work without clothes, that is, he used to do construction in a naked state. But he had a curse that if anyone saw him building naked, he would himself be turned into stone.

But when the two artisan brothers had been working for a long time, their sister brought them food and when they saw them without clothes, they turned into stone. Because of this the dome over the temple could not be built. Because of this the dome of this ancient Siddheshwar Shivling remained incomplete.

There is a pond in front of the ancient Shivalinga temple where sage Janukarna performed penance, hence the name of this pond is called Mankarna Pond. It is said that everyone’s wishes are fulfilled here and whoever comes here with a wish, all their wishes are fulfilled.
