SHIVA MANDIR IS ONE OF THE FIRST HINDU TEMPLES IN QUEENS NEW YORK. S.D.M.S. was founded and incorporated in September 1980 – Shiva Mandir was Inaugurated/Dedicated/Opened on July 4, 1987. Since then offering rich culture and services to the community of Queens.

The temple is quit far from the main city. clean nicely maintained. And there was a kirtan bhajan program going on. I you visit on sundays then there is prasadam in the morning. which is just free of cost. Nice people and large space to practice Hinduism. Great place to meditate.
