Shiv Temple – Salasar
The Top Of This Shiv Mandir Is A Shivling With Naag, Trishul & Damru
Most of the devotees of Hanumanji know about the popular Salasar Balaji Mandir in Rajasthan. What most of the people dont know is that, Salasar dham also has a lovely Shiv mandir here. Even this temple comes first in Salasar if we enter the town from Jaipur-Sikar side. The Sanctum sanctorum is around 15meters above the ground and is connected from the ground through marble staircase. The key attraction of this temple is its dome which is in the shape of Shivling which is accompanied by naag devta. There is also a 20 feet large shiv trishul and damroo in one side of the shivling. The entrance gate is huge and has carvings of Hindu gods on either side as well as holy deities on top of it. There is also a big sheshnaag fana designed in one side of the gate and can be seen from a distance. This sheshnaag deity looks so real that kids dont go near to it considering it as a real snake.
The campus of Shiv mandir is widely spread with lots of greenery and trees in it. Often devotees visiting Balaji mandir come here to take some rest before the return journey.
Morning prayers and evening aarti is offered to lord Shiva by the local preist and the temple staff. Anyone visiting Salasar, is strongly recommended to visit this lovely and holy place. It gives a very natural, rustic experience with a flavor of local art and culture.
Darshan Timings: Temple opens with Mangala Aarti at 6am and closes at 8 pm.
