Hatkeshwar Mahadev, 620 years ago during the reign of Kalchuri King Brahmadev Rai, is more than 250 years old Sarona Temple.
There are three Shiva temples in the capital, which are more than 200 years old. Due to their recognition of these temples, devotees throng here to visit Mahashivratri and Sawan. In the Shiv Mandir of Sarona, the couple come to visit here in wishing a son. Devotees reach from far and wide with Kanwar to anoint Shivling and ask for a wish. The most famous among them is Hatkeshwar Mahadev on Mahadevghat, Shiva temple in Sarona village and Budheshwar Mahadev Temple in front of Budha Talab.
Hajiraj Naik built the temple of Hatkeshwar Mahadev 620 years ago during the reign of Brahmadev Rai, son of Kalchuri King Ramchandra. This temple is the temple of Mahadev on the banks of the Kharun River, about 10 km from the city’s heart site Jaistambh Chowk. Like the Mahakal temple located in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, the temple of Mahadev Ghat in Raipur is famous. Akhand fumigation has been burning here for 500 years. A fair is held near the temple on the banks of the Kharun river. The fair is a center of attraction twice a year. The first fair is held on Kartik Purnima and the second on Mahashivaratri
