Jagannath Temple Behta

This temple is the temple of Lord Jagannath. This temple is located in Benhata village, three kilometers from the Bhitargaon development block headquarters of Kanpur district. It is said that the specialty of this temple is that 7 days before the rainy season, a few drops of rain automatically start dripping from its roof.

Although many attempts have been made to unravel this mystery, even after numerous surveys, archaeologists could not find out the exact time of the construction of the temple and the mystery. All that was known was that the last renovation of the temple took place in the 11th century. Information like when and how many renovations were done before that or who got it constructed still remains an inexplicable puzzle, but getting information about the rain in advance definitely helps the farmers.
