Raipur. Among the epics, the place where Ramchandra ji’s maternal grandfather is considered is in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. In view of this, Ram temple was constructed on VIP Road in the capital of Chhattisgarh. The artisans of Rajasthan and Odisha were called to build a 105 feet high Ram temple.
1) Ram Lala statue is made of Makrana stone
The statue of Ram Lala has been made in the Ram temple on VIP Road in the capital, just one stone has been carved out. It took one and a half years to find this size stone and it took 4 months to make the idol. This idol has been carved in this Makrana stone found in Rajasthan.
Manoj Goyal, chairman of Shri Ram Temple Committee, said that it has taken 5 years to build a grand temple prepared at a cost of about 15 crores. The 108 feet high temple has been prepared by hundreds of artisans from Rajasthan and Odisha.
Many incarnations of Lord Vishnu have been carved on the stones on the inside and outside walls. The workmanship of Rajwada art pattern can be seen in the temple. The temple has flowers, some royal design, Hindu deities have been engraved.
In the hall where there is a statue of God, a huge 12 feet chandelier has been installed. It costs more than 7 lakhs. Apart from this, the special thing about the temple is that the idol of Ram and Sita is in a sitting posture. This pattern of the idol is very rare. It has been made by the artisans of Jaipur to carve a large marble.
There is a seating arrangement of 500 people simultaneously. Yagyashala and Navagraha Temple have been built near the entrance of the temple. Apart from Ram, Sita and Hanuman, the temple also has 16 idols of deities.
5 kg of gold has been used to decorate the frame of the sanctum sanctorum on which Lord Rama and Sita are sitting on.
