Haridwar. Bilvakeshwar Mahadev Temple is present in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. There is a self-proclaimed Shivalinga in this temple. Devotees come here from far and wide to offer prayers. Many ancient stories are associated with the ancient Bilvakeshwar Mahadev temple. There are many things in this temple which are ancient and worth seeing.According to beliefs, the story of this place is related to Mata Gauri and Bhole Shankar. At the same time, in this temple, Mata Gauri had performed penance for 3000 years sitting under an ancient tree. Whereas we all have heard that Mother Gauri had performed penance for several thousand years to get Bholenath as her husband.

Let us tell you that the ancient Swayambhu Shivalinga is situated near the ancient tree in Bilwakeshwar Mahadev Temple. There is special significance in worshiping the ancient Shivalinga. It is believed that by worshiping Swayambhu Shivalinga, all desires are fulfilled. Temple priest Anil Puri tells that Mata Gauri had performed penance in Bilvkeshwar Mahadev temple to marry Lord Shankar. The priest tells that if a girl who is not getting married, worships the Bilvakeshwar temple for five Sundays, she gets married.
