India’s largest Chitragupta temple is in Gorakhpur, it was established in 1960.

Gorakhpur is a city where worship has been done traditionally. Gorakhnath Math and Mansarovar Temple are present in this city and many such places are present there. Which gives a sense of historical and religious things. The people of the city also contribute equally at these places. There is a temple in Gorakhpur which is considered to be the largest temple in India. Chitragupta Temple located in Bakshipur, Gorakhpur is the largest temple of India. Apart from worship, many such works are done here. Which helps people socially. The temple is managed by the committee there.
India’s largest Chitragupta temple is located in Bakshipur, Gorakhpur. Where Lord Chitragupta is present inside the temple. Other social works are also done in the same temple premises. The temple is operated by Kayastha Committee. Committee member Kamala Kant says that this temple has been given the recognition of Mecca of Kayasthas. This cognizance was taken by the then National President R. C Verma who was from Indore had given it. Elections are held every 2 years in this Chitragupta temple. In which the President and ministers are changed and they run it. It is operated only with the financial support received from the temple.
Booking is done for 20 to 25 thousand
Chitragupta temple present in Gorakhpur also helps people socially. President of the temple, Alok Ranjan Verma says that the temple was established around 1960. Then we also got support from the common people. There is a part in the temple where space has been made for weddings and other programs. And the common people are helped in this. Even in this era of inflation, the space inside the temple is given to the common people for just Rs 20 to 25 thousand. Which he uses for his marriages and other programs. Then the temple is operated with the same money.
The statue was installed in 1967
Temple President Alok Ranjan Verma says that the temple was established in 1960. But Lord Chitragupta was installed in the temple in 1967. Had to go here and there for 7 years to make the idol of God. Then Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s guru Avaidyanath himself went to Jaipur and got the statue made. Then the idol was installed in the temple with lotus flowers made by him. There has been no tampering with the idol which is still installed here, not even its caste.
