Shri Krishna is known by different names in different places.
01. In Uttar Pradesh, he is known by the names Krishna or Gopal Govind etc.
02. In Rajasthan, he is known as Shrinathji or Thakurji.
03. In Maharashtra, the Lord is known as Vitthal.
04. In Orissa, he is known as Jagannath.
05. Known as Gopalji in Bengal.
06. Known as Venkatesh or Govinda in South India.
07. Known as Dwarkadhish in Gujarat.
08. In the northeastern regions of Assam, Tripura, Nepal, etc., worship is done only by the name Krishna.
09. In countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, America, England, France, etc., the name Krishna is famous.
10. The word “Go” in Govind or Gopal refers to both cow and senses. Go is a Sanskrit word, and in the Rig Veda, “Go” means “human senses.” One who conquers the senses and has them under control is Govind, Gopal.
11. Shri Krishna’s father’s name was Vasudeva, hence he was known as Vasudeva throughout his life. His grandfather’s name was Shurasena.
12. Shri Krishna was born in the prison of King Kansa in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh.
13. Lord Krishna’s brother was Balarama, but Uddhava and Angiras were his cousins. Angiras later performed penance and became known as Neminath, a Tirthankara of Jainism.
14. Lord Krishna freed 16,000 princesses from the prison of King Narakasura of Assam and, to prevent them from committing suicide, married them out of compulsion to honor them. In those times, abducted women were considered untouchable, and society did not accept them.
15. Lord Krishna had only one original consort, Rukmini, who was the sister of King Rukmi of Vidarbha in Maharashtra. Rukmi was a friend of Shishupal and an enemy of Lord Krishna.
16. Duryodhana was Lord Krishna’s brother-in-law, and his daughter Lakshmana was married to Lord Krishna’s son, Samba.
17. The name of Shri Krishna’s bow was Sarnga. His conch was Panchajanya. His discus was Sudarshan. His beloved was Radharani, the daughter of Vrishbhanu, the head of Barsana. Shri Krishna loved Radharani with unconditional and selfless love. Radharani was much older than Shri Krishna, with a difference of more than six years. Shri Krishna left Vrindavan at the age of 14, and he never met Radha again.
18. Shri Krishna came from Mathura to Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, to acquire knowledge. Here, he learned supernatural sciences from the high-class Brahmin sage Sandipani.
19. Shri Krishna lived on earth for a total of 125 years. His complexion was dark black, and he emitted the sacred fragrance of Ashtagandha 24 hours a day. His clothes were yellow silk, and a peacock crown adorned his head. His charioteer’s name was Daruka, and his chariot was drawn by four horses. His eyes were captivating.
20. Shri Krishna’s family guru was Maharishi Shandilya.
21. Shri Krishna was named by Maharishi Garg.
22. Shri Krishna’s eldest grandson was named Aniruddha, for whom Shri Krishna fought and defeated Banasur and Lord Shiva.
23. Lord Krishna established a capital named Dwarka in the middle of the sea in Gujarat. Dwarka was entirely made of gold and was built by the divine architect Vishwakarma.
24. Lord Krishna was hit on the toe by an arrow from a hunter named Jara. That hunter was Bali from his previous birth. After being hit by the arrow, the Lord departed to his heavenly abode.
25. Lord Krishna imparted the knowledge of the holy Gita to Arjuna in Kurukshetra, Haryana, on Sunday, the Shukla Paksha Ekadashi.
26. Lord Krishna, in his childhood, stole the clothes of women bathing naked in a river only once and advised them not to bathe naked in the open in the next time.
27. According to Lord Krishna, a cow slaughterer is a demon and has no right to live.
28. ‘Shri Krishna’ was not an incarnation but was an incarnation… which means ‘the most perfect God’. Neither was he born like an ordinary human nor did he die.
