(Mata Sita tomb in Uttarakhand)
There was an ancient small temple of Mother Sita in Sitonsu Gawn, which is now being enlarged, there is Valmiki Ashram or his temple on a hillock and Sita Mela is held here every year in Kartik (November),While the efforts of the mourning citizens to stop Mother Sita as she sinks into the earth are depicted, ultimately the hair of Mother Sita remained in the hands of the people, which were saved from a rural fair in the form of fibers of a local Durva grass. Keep in home and place of worship.
Sitonsyu village: This place was first publicized by local MLA Mukesh Koli. He met Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat, brought him and Rawat came to this place and approved big plans and also declared a Sita Teerth Path. This country is amazing. The thread of religion binds it in the thread of unity. Wherever we go, we will find references to the stories of Krishna, Ram, Sita and Mahabharata in every village. Along with Rukmini, there is Parshuram Kund in Arunachal and it is also there in Manipur. The same threads are found till the far south, which connect Rameshwaram with Badrinath, Kedarnath with Pashupatinath and Janakpur (Nepal) with Ayodhya.
(Sita Mata Circuit in Uttarakhand tourism map)
Every year lakhs of people come to Pauri Uttarakhand to visit Char Dham Badri-Kedar-Gangotri-Yamunotri. But very few people know that it is called Devbhoomi not only for these four Dhams. There are ancient temples of many gods and goddesses which are mentioned in the Puranas but not many people know about them.
Raghunath temple of mythological importance at Devprayag, Laxman temple at Deval and Mata Sita temple at Falswadi village in Sitolsyun are also among them. Now the government has announced to develop these as ‘Sita Mata Circuit’. This announcement has been made after the way for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya has been cleared.
Announcing the development of ‘Sita Mata Circuit’ in Pauri, the Chief Minister said that these religious places have great recognition among the local people but people of other states have less information about them. Therefore, publicity will be spread to inform the devotees across the country about the religious importance of this place.
Mata Sita temple is in Falswadi village Sitonsyu (Sitasain) of Pauri Garhwal.
Seetonsyu is a village across the hill from Falsiyari – Sitasain (Sita’s plain) and Bidakoti. Mother Sita lived in Sitasain and raised Luv and Kush. In front of Sita Sain, there is a small place like the temple or ashram of Rishi Valmiki.
Both are on this side and the other side of Alaknanda. It is said that Ram had asked Lakshman with tearful eyes to leave Sita across the Ganges. So Bidakoti on the banks of Alaknanda (Ganga) in front of Sita Sain is the place where Lakshman bid farewell to Mother Sita.
Sita is worshiped throughout East Asia. Sita is a name used in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand. Institutions and government places are named after Ayodhya and Sita. If the Sita pilgrimage path is popular in Uttarakhand, then in Prime Minister Modi’s Act East policy, Sita connects the entire East Asia Himalayas to Uttarakhand, not just Northeast India.
According to archaeologist Dr. Yashwant Singh Katoch, it is believed that Sita Mata took Bhoo-Samadhi in Falswadi village. According to folklore, there was a temple of Sita Mata here and later it too got buried in the earth. According to the story related to it, Mansar fair is held here in the month of November. Falaswadi and Kot villages, where Lakshman temple is located, together organize this fair. Every year a large number of people come to participate in it.
Story of Sita Mata’s exile
Agyeya had paid his literary devotion to Sita by visiting Jan Janak Janaki in the eighties. After that, only the sound of Jai Shri Ram echoed in the Ram Janmabhoomi Yatra. Ram Janmabhoomi is the birthplace of Ram only, not of Sita Mata.
Sita lived as a queen in Ayodhya for a very short time. When she came to Ayodhya after her marriage in Janakpur, she went into exile. When he was kidnapped by Ravana during his exile, he spent twelve years in Ashok Vatika, tearfully waiting for Ram. When she returned, she had to go through the ordeal. Only some time had passed in Ayodhya, then the words of the washerman instigated Ram so much to follow the decorum that Sita again had to go to exile during childbirth. And then after raising his twin sons for twelve years in Valmiki Ashram, he attained Bhoosamadhi…!!
Although many scholars consider the incident of Sita’s exile to be apocryphal and say that Ram who touches Ahalya’s feet during her exile, rescues her from a rock, eats the berries of Shabari, Tears are shed on Sita’s suffering, whose friend Vibhishana marries Mandodari after the end of Ravana, such a sensitive Ram towards every woman cannot send Sita to exile.
But people believe that Mother Sita had taken final refuge in the lap of her mother Earth. This is found in folktales, songs and paintings. This sequence has been taken forward by three such villages in Garhwal, which are considered the sacred pilgrimage sites of Mother Sita’s exile and her absorption in the womb of the earth. And since ancient times, the names of fairs, songs, temples and villages which emphasize this belief are prevalent here. These three villages are in Pauri Garhwal district. One is Seetonsu Falswadi village, the second is Sitasain and the third is Bidakoti.
