Siddheshwar Temple Palari
Siddheshwar Temple This Shiva temple is located on the embankment of Balasamund pond in Palari village, 25 km from Balodabazar in Balodabazar district of Chhattisgarh state. This temple was built in about 7-8th century AD. This brick -made temple is West to West. The river goddess Ganga and Yamuna are displayed in Tribhangamudra on the door branch of the temple. There is a marking of Tridevas on the gate. The scene of Shiva marriage on the Sirdardal located at the entrance is beautifully engraved and there is a marking of Ashta Dikpal on the door branch. The sanctum sanctorum has a Shivalinga named Siddhashwar. The peak part of this temple is embellished with the shapes of Kirtimukh, Gajmukh and Vyal which are built within Chaitya Gavaksha. This is the best example of brick -built temples of existing Chhattisgarh. This monument is protected by the State of Chhattisgarh.
