SIRULI MAHAVIR TEMPLE

It is one of the famous temples in the district of Puri, Odisha.
When I visited the temple I came to know that Lord Jagannath asked Hanuman to move back 2.5 steps from the Jagannath temple so that Goddess Laxmi doesn’t get disturbed with the snoring sound of Hanuman.
Priests at the temple informed that the body of Lord Hanuman is similar to moss and is very soft and is so called Siruli Mahavir, (siruli or siuli in Odia means Moss).
Lord Hanuman is looking simultaneously at the Jagannath temple with his one eye and with the other at Lanka.
The atmosphere around the temple is very peacefula and is well connected by road.
