SRI HARGAURI MANDIR THAKURGANJ,BIHAR
117 years ago, in 1905 AD, Shri Hargauri Temple was established by the descendants of national poet Ravindra Nath Tagore in Ward No. 12 Dhibripada of Thakurganj Nagar Panchayat. According to the details mentioned in the temple premises, during the excavation of a field in the north-eastern corner of Thakurganj (then Kanakpur) city in the year 1897 by the descendants of the national poet, a one feet high Shivling was found in the ruins of the Pandava period. The specialty of Shivalinga is to have the idol of Mother Parvati engraved on it.
It is said that there is no other Shivalinga anywhere in which the idol of Mother Parvati is engraved. For this reason this temple was named Shri Hargauri Temple. Many devotees from across the country come here to have darshan of this Shivalinga. Visiting devotees say that the Shivalinga inscribed with the statue of Mata Jagatjanani established in Thakurganj has a distinct specialty. Such Shivalinga has never been heard or seen anywhere till date. Really this Shivalinga is quite untouched. Devotees from neighboring country Nepal and state Bengal come to the temple to pay obeisance.
