Sri Karphaga Vinayakar Temple, Sydney

Dedicated to Lord Ganesha, Sri KarphagaVinayagar Temple is located at the heart of Sydney. Karphaga is the Tamil for the Sanskrit derivation of Kalpaga/ Kalpataru, which is ‘the wish fulfilling celestial tree spoken;’ it is believed standing under the shade of this tree, whatever one thinks can come true. Likewise, KarphagaVinayakar answers the prayers of devotees who come seeking for his help. Apart from Lord Ganesha, the temple houses deities of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Vishnu, Ayyapa/Dharma Shasta, Murugan, Bhairava, and the structure of Navgraha. On a regular basis, cultural events, religious discussions and music recitals take place in the temple and the devotees and temple authority endeavour to work for peace and harmony at all levels.
