Surya Mandir jharkhand
The Sun Temple or Surya Mandir , located near Bundu, is a Hindu temple complex dedicated to the solar deity, Surya. It is about 40 km (25 mi) from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on NH-43 ( It is situated on the top of a hill on Ranchi-Tata Road. The temple is constructed in the form of a huge chariot with beautifully designed eighteen wheels and seven natural horses. The temple also houses several other deities including Shiva, Parvati and Ganesha.The temple was built by Sanskriti Vihar, a charitable trust, headed by Sri Sita Ram Maru, Managing Director of Ranchi Express Group. Its foundation stone was laid by Swami Shri Vasudevanand Saraswati on 24 October 1991 and Pran Pratistha was performed by Swami Shri Vamdev Ji Maharaj on 10 July 1994.
A Dharamshala has been constructed for the pilgrims. There is also a pond where devotees can take bath to worship the Sun God during Chhath Puja.
