According to local people, this temple was built in one night by the Katyuri kings. Due to the dense forest around the temple, lions and tigers were already visible here. Devotees told that three colors of Mother Goddess are seen in a day. When the sun rises, the mother appears in golden color, during the day the mother’s form appears black and in the evening the mother appears in dark color. Any devotee comes to the court of Mata with a true heart. He is able to perceive these things. The idol of Lord Ganesha can also be seen in this temple which is said to be around 1254. Apart from this, idols of Bhairav and Hanuman ji etc. have been installed in the temple.
The temple was established in the 11th century
Priest Jeevan Nath Goswami told that the temple is quite ancient. He told that this temple was built in the 11th century. The history of this temple can be traced from the idol of Lord Ganesha. A large number of devotees visit this temple. He told that three forms of Mother are seen here. Whoever comes with a true heart, all his wishes are fulfilled. When people’s wishes are fulfilled then they tie this bell or organize Bhandara etc. here.

Devotee Shankar Dutt told that he has come from Haldwani. He has been coming to this temple for the last 10 years. He told that whatever wishes he brings, the mother fulfills them immediately. A large number of devotees visit this temple. Devotee Neema Rubali told that Mother has such immense grace that she takes away their troubles immediately and Mother is physically present here. She tells that she has many wishes which have been fulfilled by Mata Rani. People come here with their wishes.
