Thanang Mandir is situated amidst the snowy hills. All the work in the temple is done with wood. The entrance door of the temple is also made of wood. There is no idol in the temple. Only Shivling is installed which no one is allowed to see. People believe that the main door of the temple is opened ten times in a year when one can have darshan of Lord Shiva in the Shivling. These ten days come during festivals like bees come to the Bhadaun fair etc. Some kind of leather object is preferred in the temple.
