Tulsi plant and misconceptions

Tulsi plant is revered in our Sanatan religion. We always call her “Tulsi Maiya” with respect.

It is believed that all the negative effects of the house which has “Tulsi Maiya” in its courtyard are automatically destroyed. Vastu defects are mitigated. No negative energy is able to enter the house and even if any negative energy tries to enter the house, Tulsi Maiya stops that energy.

Now it is true that Tulsi stops negative energy but most of the people remain under the misconception that if the Tulsi plant dries up then it is a sign of trouble in your life.

Many Jajmans come to me scared due to this misconception, “Didi/Guru Mata, this has happened, I am very nervous, the Tulsi plant dried up overnight last night, has someone done something? Is there any trouble coming?”

More than half of this fear mongering is useless and is done just to increase followers on YouTube and Insta.

We will consider this fact in two ways, one as a scientific fact and the other as a fact of conduct.

Scientific reason and solution for drying of basil plant-

Tulsi plant does not require much water, it is a plant to be planted in summers. Whenever excess water is added the plant will dry up. The plant also dries up due to extreme cold and frost.

Therefore, in winter, keep this plant at a place where it gets adequate sunlight. Don’t add too much water. If possible, cover it with white muslin cloth or red chunri. If excess manja appears, remove it as per time. It is considered best to keep it in the north direction, hence keep it in this direction. Can also be kept in North East.
Water is required in summer, even if water is not applied it will dry up. Still do not add excessive water.

Second reason for drying up of Tulsi plant – Abhichar action and remedy-

If you do not find any of the scientific reasons mentioned above, and even after taking full care of the maintenance, if the plant dries up, then you can rest assured that “Tulsi Maiya” has eliminated the negative energy that has come upon you. Now bring a new Tulsi plant on Wednesday, keep in mind that there should be no Ekadashi or eclipse on that day.With complete rituals, request the priest of a nearby temple and give him Dakshina as per your devotion, he will tell you the time and also get the puja done, you should also cover the red chunri of “Tulsi Mata” and thank him from your heart that he has Protected you.

If you want and you have the ability, then after that you can also take a vow to get Tulsi Vivah organized every year. The priest of the temple near your house will also tell you the instructions on how this is done.

Follow the following rules-

On Sunday, Ekadashi and eclipse period, neither offer water to Tulsiji nor pluck leaves.

If possible, light a ghee lamp near them every evening.
On prohibited days, offer water and consume two basil leaves. Tulsi has many medicinal properties. Stay healthy, stay happy.
