Tulsidas used to write Hanuman Chalisa
Tulsidas ji used to write Hanuman Chalisa and used to keep the written letters safely at night. When he got up in the morning and looked at them, something written in them had been erased.
Tulsidas worshipped Hanuman ji, Hanuman ji appeared and Tulsidas said that when I write Hanuman Chalisa, someone erases it at night. Hanuman ji said that it is I who erases it.
Hanuman ji said that if you have to write praise then write praise of my Lord Shri Ram, not me. At that time Tulsidas ji thought of the first couplet of Ayodhyakand and he wrote it in the beginning of Hanuman Chalisa.
shreeguru charan saroj raj nij man mukuru sudhaari
varanun raghubar bimal jasu jo daayaku phal chaari
Then Hanuman Ji said that I am not Raghuvar. Tulsidas Ji said that you and Lord Shri Ram have appeared after taking the same Prasad, therefore you are also Raghuvar.
Tulsidas reminded that in Brahma Lok there lived an Apsara named Suvarchala who once became attracted to Brahma Ji due to which Brahma Ji got angry and cursed her to become a vulture. When she started crying, Brahma ji felt pity and said that whatever Prasad will be distributed among the three queens as an offering in the Yagna of King Dasharath’s son, you will fly away with Kaikeyi’s share. Mother Anjana was praying to Lord Shiva with her hands outstretched and wishing for a son. In the same hands, the Prasad was dropped from which you very thoroughly inspected; Lord Shri Ram Himself has called you his brother
tum mam bharat priyahi sam bhaee
Tulsidas gave another argument that when you went to Ashok Vatika in search of mother Janaki, then mother Janaki made you her son
ajar amar gunanidhi sut hohoo
karahun bahut raghunaayak chhohoo
When you returned after searching for mother Janaki, Lord Shri Ram himself made you his son
sunu sut tohi urin main naaheen
dekheun kari vichaar man maaheen
Therefore you also became Raghuvar. Hearing this argument of Tulsidas, Hanumanji disappeared.
