In this historical temple, a Shivlinga has emerged from the ground and a procession of Shiva devotees is organized in the fair every Monday of Sawan.
Vankhandeshwar Temple is located one kilometer away from Subhash Park in Nagar Panchayat Jalali of Aligarh. Lord Shiva is present in it in the form of Shivalinga. Shiva is worshiped every Monday at the temple. A fair is held in the temple premises every Monday in Sawan. People come here from Delhi and far off places to worship Shivalinga.
Features of the temple
Vankhandeshwar temple is on Bade Bamba on the road of Bhatla village. Devotees coming from far away places do not face any problem. Performing Havan in the temple premises has special significance. It is said that whoever comes here and performs Havan, his wish is fulfilled.
History of the temple
According to devotees, Vankhandeshwar temple is many years old. The Shivalinga in the temple is emerging from the ground. Here also on Mahashivratri, devotees bring Kanwar from Ramghat, Rajghat and Haridwar and perform Jalabhishek. It is said that till date whoever has made a wish in this temple has got it fulfilled with the blessings of Lord Bholenath.
