5 major incidents when Shri Hari saved the world with his ‘Maya’
Brahma is the creator and Shiva is the destroyer, but the protector of the universe is Lord Vishnu. Whenever religion and its devotees faced a crisis, Vishnu transgressed the bounds and committed acts that were considered “deceitful acts committed for the welfare of the people.”
1️⃣ The End of Bhasmasura: 🔥
When Bhasmasura, empowered by Shiva’s boon, ran to burn him to ashes, Vishnu assumed the form of Mohini. He engaged Bhasmasura in a dance and, by making him place his own hand on his own head, reduced him to ashes.
2️⃣ Vrinda and Jalandhar:
Jalandhar was an invincible demon because his wife Vrinda’s chastity was his shield. To protect the gods, Lord Vishnu took the form of Jalandhar and broke Vrinda’s chastity, only then was Lord Shiva able to kill Jalandhar. It was due to Vrinda’s curse that Lord Vishnu became Shaligram and Vrinda Tulsi.
3️⃣ Samudra Manthan and Amrita:
When the demons stole the nectar from the churning of the ocean, Lord Vishnu again assumed the form of Mohini. Entwining the demons with her beauty, she gave all the nectar to the gods, protecting heaven.
4️⃣ Vamana Avatar and King Bali:
King Bali was generous, but he had become arrogant. Lord Vishnu took the form of Vamana and asked for three steps of land. He measured the earth and sky in two steps and, placing the third step on Bali’s head, sent him to the underworld, where he himself became its gatekeeper.
5️⃣ The Story of Badrinath Dham:
Badrinath was formerly the abode of Shiva and Parvati. Lord Vishnu was attracted to this place. He took the form of a crying child. Mother Parvati took him inside to calm him down. Finding the opportunity, Lord Vishnu locked the door from inside and demanded the place. Then Lord Shiva went to Kedarnath.
Essence: Every action of God, even if it seems deceitful, is ultimately for the welfare of the people and the establishment of Dharma.
Jai Shri Hari Vishnu!
