Budhiya mai mandir is one of the oldest temple of gorakhpur. Everyday thousand of people come to pray budhiya mai for the welfare of their family and their prosperity. Also a new temple is made just in front of the old temple. A small lake full of lotus is present between the two temples. You have to cross the lake in order to reach to the old temple by a boat whose fare is rs10 per person. Specially on Tuesday and Saturday many devotees offers mango and other edible item to the monkeys. There are hundreds of monkeys and langoors.
The temple of Budhiya Mata is situated in the middle of Kusmahi forest, 12 km east of Gorakhpur district headquarters, the glory of this temple is such that devotees from not only the country but also from abroad come here to have the darshan of Mata.There is a belief associated with the Budhiya Mata Temple that the devotee who comes here with a true heart and worships the Mata, never falls into the trap of untimely death. Mother always protects her devotees.
