During Navratri, there is a complete ban on women entering the temple. This tradition has been going on since ancient times. No woman can enter the temple during Navratri.

For this, the priests and villagers here remain completely alert. It is said that during Navratri, Tantrik performs Siddhi here for ten days. That’s why no woman is allowed to come.

Mother appeared three hundred and fifty years ago

Villagers say that about three hundred and fifty years ago, the idol of Mata had suddenly appeared here. When Raja Ghosh got information about this, he built a temple of Mata at this place. Due to the construction of the temple by the king, it was named Ghosravaan village. After the construction of the temple, people started worshiping. Raja Ghosh had three brothers. After whose name Ghosrawan, second Badgaon and Tetrawan were named.

All the wishes of the devotees who worship at Maa Ashapuri temple are fulfilled. Therefore it was named Asha Than. Even today, this temple has such a belief that whoever worships the Mother Goddess here with true heart. All their wishes are fulfilled.

Villagers say that initially the students of Nalanda University, people of Buddhist religion used to come here and study here, and used to worship and seek blessings in the court of Mother Goddess. After this all his wishes were fulfilled. Since then its name became Ashapuri.

What is the mythological significance of the temple?

There is no restriction on anyone for worshiping here on any given day. But during Navratri, women are prohibited from entering here for ten days. According to the villagers, the puja that lasts for ten days is considered to have special significance. It is said that during Navratri, Tantrik people come here and perform Siddhi. And he says he gets distracted when women enter.

Therefore, there is a complete ban on entry of women. It is also said that unpleasant incidents happen to women who try to forcefully enter the temple. For this reason also people remain scared. This tradition has been going on since ancient times.

Temple priest Purendra Upadhyay says that due to the blessings of Mother Ashapuri, any crisis among the people of Ghosrawan, Pawapuri and all the surrounding villages is averted before it occurs. No matter how much we praise the glory of Mother, it is not less. Whenever any kind of crisis occurs in the village and surrounding areas, the crisis is averted by just chanting the name of Mother Goddess. As soon as you enter the temple, you feel as if you have seen the Mother Goddess in person. The mind and soul become satisfied just by seeing him.
