Shri Ram Kund Shiv Mandir/Ramkund Mahoba
In Bundelkhand Mahoba, Lord Shri Ram, Lakshman ji and Sita ji had come here in Satyayug, that is, it is 10,000 years old from today, when Lord Shri Ram went into exile, he passed through this route and stayed here for a few days on the mountain of Guru Gorakhnath ji. We stayed there and Sita ji’s kitchen remains as it is today and it is said that whoever takes bath in this Ram Kund gets cured from diseases. The depth of the Kund is said to be 90 feet and no matter how much drought happens in Bundelkhand, the water of this Kund never gets empty. Maybe this is nothing less than a miracle.
Ram Kund Because it is believed that Lord Ram used to take bath here, the local people believe that bathing in the waters of Ram Kund purifies the soul and one can start afresh with a more positive and altruistic outlook.
Ramkund is a square stepwell, with a wall of about 56 feet on one side, on the walls of which there are small sculptures depicting the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu and also idols of Lord Rama, Goddess Sita, Lord Lakshman and Lord Hanuman. The architecture of the stepwell is geometric and one cannot help but be amazed by the skill of that time. As you descend to reach the water, you suddenly feel coolness, which is not the case at the top of the stepwell. While going deep into this stepwell, it feels as if you have come to an ancient time, when it used to be a place for storing water.
